Folder heading

I just downloaded and used v8.7 for the first time. It appears that if only some of the files in a folder are new or changed the folder heading will not show up in the compare list. That was not true in the past. I often have subfolders I want to ignore regardless of how many files are new or changed. It looks like I now have to uncheck each file individually. In the past I could uncheck the folder heading. Am I missing something?
