Syncing recycle bin

When I was syncing my C drive to my external hard drive yesterday, I noticed it spent a lot of time syncing numerous files with RecycleBin.ffs_tmp in the paths. I also recognized the files as being from part of a Firefox profile that I had sent to the recycle bin and cleared from it a few days prior to the sync. When it was done, I checked the Filter tab and the default ones are still there:

\$Recycle.Bin\
\RECYCLER\
\RECYCLED\

So for some reason it seems like it is syncing the files that I've recycled and deleted from my recycle bin anyway. Why is this, and how do I stop it?
