I am using FFS version 6.14 under Windows 8.1
Problem is that it has started crashing (on Compare or Synchronize).
AFter some investigation, I have found one particular folder that causes the problem. If this folder is somewhere inside the folders being compared, FFS always crashes. If I take the folder out, FFS never crashes.
From watching the screen, I can see that it gets into an infinite loop at one particular point when crawling the folder tree. On the screen I can see the following:
H:\Backups\Andrew.RIVERHALL1\Documents\DataHome\House\HuntersFarm\Electricity\AutomationProject\emonTxFirmware-master\libraries\emonTxFirmware-master\libraries\emonTxFirmware-master\libraries\emonTxFirmware-master\libraries\emonTxFirmware-master\libraries\emonTxFirmware-master\libraries\emonTxFirmware-master\libraries\emonTxFirmware-master\libraries\ and so on for ever.
Prsumably it crashes when this gets too deep.
I can browse these folders quite happily in Windows.
I am happy to provide further info to help diagnose the problem
Loops when recursively traversing folder tree - then eventually crashes

Slight update/correction to previous post: I *DO* see the same apparent infinite recursion when I browse in Windows. Presumably some sort of corruption in the file system. I seem to be able to go as deep as I like - only boredom stops me!

Most likely this is not a corruption of the file system,
but rather an incorrect use of links.
To the extent that it concerns an incorrect *symbolic* link, you could try
change the Synchronization Settings to Exclude Symbolic Links in the Comparison section.
