Dear all,
I'm considering to use FreeFileSync to make one-way backups of a smaller drive to a larger drive. In this process, I'd like files that have been deleted from the smaller drive to remain untouched in the larger drive, as I normally would delete these files only to make room for new content, while I'd like the larger drive to maintain these files with their original directory structure.
From what I could read about the versioning configuration of FFS, it seems I can get these files moved under a directory or renamed to keep multiple versions, but it there an option to completely ignore deletions from the source?
Many thanks in advance. This seems an awesome product and I'm really hopeful it can meet my needs for this kind of backup!

Under your sync settings (F8) use the sync method "Update" rather than "Mirror".
* Both Mirror and Update create files in the right location that exist in the left location and do not exist in the right location (what you likely do want).
* Both Mirror and Update overwrite any files existing in the right location if a newer version of that file exists in the left location (what you likely do want).
* Mirror deletes any files existing in the right location that no longer exist in the left location (what you apparently do not want).
* Update retains any files existing in the right location that no longer exist in the left location (what you apparently do want).
Versioning allows you to keep a copy of the last previous version, or of all previous versions of a file, if the "original" has changed. That does not seem a direct solution to what you seem to want.

Ok, I read more and got the answer to my Q. Both modes are possible, very easily.
