I have a partition of music for dj and mixing work on an internal hdd.
Freefilesync makes regular backups to another external hdd partition which is usually attached via ah hub. A freefilesync batch file takes care of this via Task manager in windows 7.
I wish to make backups of this partition when I attach another external hdd.
Can a freefilesync batch file be activated from a hardware event=??????
If so, how would i do this.
Internal Hdd is D: and external is P:_

Yes you can, although it is a bit "tedious".
You can use the (Windows) Task Scheduler,
define a Custom Event associated with the insertion of the USB drive (based on Event ID)
and use the Custom Event to trigger launching the FFS batch-file.
(Finding the right Event ID is the "tedious" part ...)
See e.g. here.
Although there described for Vista, it works the same in more recent Windows versions.
