My Notes while I setup my 1st Sync (750GB+ on WDNAS to PC)
Please comment, answer where ?? found; help me make this right and/or better
I want the Folder on the PC (right) to Mirror the Source NAS (Left)
And track file moves and deletes, and email me when done, and...wash my car

1) Mirror Sync Left folder(s) (on NAS) to the Right Folder (on PC)
- Sync Settings (F8); Select “Mirror ->”
- “Drag & Drop” or “Browse”;
Left for Source | Right for Destination (E:\FFS.Sync)

1b) Mirror changes in Folders/Files; Paths and Names
- Sync Settings (F8); Select “Detect moved files”
? - Creates ‘sync.ffs_db’; ?where is this file stored?, ?can I change this path?”

1c) Sync Locked files
- Menu Bar; Tools, Options: select “Copy Locked Files”

-) Add Filters (if any)
- *\Backups*.cdr (specific to CSF CorelDraw ‘Backup’ files)

2) Keep Deleted Files (Versions)
- Sync Settings (F8); Select “Versioning”
- Select Folder Path for Versions (E:\FFS.Vers)

2b) Limit 'Versions' to last 7days, or 3days or ? whatever works best (size) on 2TB destination drive
- Create a Macro. Do it manually until # days can be established.

3) Sync daily; using Win Task Scheduler
- Create a Batch File; Menu Bar; File, Select “Save as batch job”

4) Keep set # of Log files of each sync run
- ? What’s the file name? Where is it kept? Does it overwrite itself each run?
- Keep Xn in dedicated folder on PC ('E:\FFS.Logs)
?Note: these Log options found when selecting “Save as batch job”
I do plan to eventually use a Batch file, but for now, with a Batch, how are Log files handled?

5) Auto Email Status: Completion, Errors etc.

Because of the size of my sync, >750GB, is there a faster Sync process of program?
After the initial sync, all the time is related to 'checking' for changes to resync

I just found this on the Forum: Is it what to use to auto-email FFS log files?
"Loggy Mail is a simple console application which enables the emailing of FreeFileSync log files to one or multiple recipients."
