I am not a user of FreeFileSync yet. I want to sync files between a WINDOWS XP laptop and a WINDOWS 7 laptop. I have read some postings on this forum about the problems with working with WINDOWS XP, but those are the two laptops I happen to have.

Other people have suggested using older versions of FreeFileSync that will work with WINDOWS XP.

Where do I find older versions of FFS? When I look in the FFS Archive, I see older versions for Debian, Mac, Ubuntu. But no older versions for WINDOWS.

There is little reason to use an old version of FFS. The most recent one still supports XP and will continue to do so as long as it is reasonably possible.

You need to install Service Pack 3 for XP just like the FFS error message says. Then FFS will run on XP.

I want to use older versions of FFS because Norton objects to the current version (too few users known to Norton; released too recently) and automatically deletes it. I see Windows install versions ending with version 5.0 until resuming with 9.6. Are there any between those that are (or can be made) available?
