Hi
I have two problems: I am trying to sync my C:drive to a external HDD using mirror setting. Approx size is 350GB.
1) I get an error as below for multiple files:
Error Code 1921: The name of the file cannot be resolved by the system. [openDir]
Can you please let me know what does it mean and how to resolve it. Will ignoring these files affect my data anyway.
2) I get an error ...... Out of memory. Memory allocation failed: 33554467 bytes
I have increased the memory size from the globalsetting xml file to 1000000000 bytes but still this error repeats after some time. Then the program stops and we have to restart it.
Regards,
Tejas Mehta

More free RAM is what you need. https://freefilesync.org/faq.php#limitations2) I get an error ...... Out of memory. Memory allocation failed: 33554467 bytes Tejas, 15 May 2017, 12:04
This is probably also related to not having enough free RAM.Error Code 1921: The name of the file cannot be resolved by the system. [openDir] Tejas, 15 May 2017, 12:04

this is a very BIG and REPEATED problem for me. I cant use Free File Sync because of this. I have enough of memory and 4GB RAM with a i5 processor.
There should be a way and solution to this. !!

How did you check this? If you're still getting "Out of memory. Memory allocation failed: 33554467 bytes" you do in fact have a problem with too little (free) RAM.I have enough of memory Tejas, 07 Jun 2018, 09:22

Hi Zenju,
I have 4 GB RAM which is a standard for routine use. While FFS is running I dont use other apps. So how to solve this problem of "Free" RAM. Can FFS have any setting to allocate any specific amount of RAM resource to it so that FFS can function normally without error ?
Please advise a way out.

That's not how you check for free RAM. You need a tool like Task Manager or better Process Explorer.I have 4 GB RAM which is a standard for routine use. While FFS is running I dont use other apps. Tejas, 11 Jun 2018, 07:26
