Hi,
I realise this software is free and someone has put a lot of work into it, but there are a few things I need to say: this isn't very good. For some reason, this software seems to finds errors and problems with files that I've not heard of in over thirty years of working with computers. (Error 1: DeviceIOControl, FSCTL_set_sparse - I have no idea what it means and no other software has EVER complained about it, but apparently it's this huge fucking deal for FreeFileSync, making it grind to a halt.
It tends to find these errors as soon as my back is turned and then just waits and does nothing for HOURS. I have to babysit it all the time, to dismiss the meaningless errors it throws up every time I start a new sync. Can't even remember that I DO NOT CARE about Error 1.
It can't so much as create a simple folder on the target drive.
It can't update itself. (But it CAN moan about a registration code for some reason. Version 7.8 did, anyway.)
I'm not coming back to read the answers. And again, it's great that there is free software for people to use. But whoever is in charge needs to step back and look at the overall user experience.
Annoying

Oh and another thing: folder browsing is just ridiculous: throwing back to the OS with a finder window just to write a new path...

If you are speaking about folder browsing when you choose the folders to compare, you can write the path directly, you are not forced to browse if you don't like.
I'm using the Windows version.
