Slow nSync to USB

I sync my data files to 2 places: External HDD and my USB stick.

When I sync to my USB for the first time it takes forever to sync.
My data files size is 452 MB.
I'm doing an initial sync right now to the USB and FreeFileSync is reporting the Time Remaining is 55 minutes.
But it was showing the Time Remaining as 2 Days, before.
Is there any way I can get the initial sync to go quicker?
Or is this normal for a USB.
Of course, after the initial sync, it will go quicker and only replace changed files, correct?

My sync method is Update.
