Stuck/freeze on scanning

Hi

I have been using FFS for a number of years and have always found solutions to any problems or issues I have encountered either through help or via these forums.

But I am stuck on a problem which I cannot seem to solve.

I an mirroring drives on different machines and the drives of equal size. This has worked for years.

Suddenly my FFS gets stuck on 'scanning' when I run the mirror operation and FFS seems to get stuck on a different file each time saying scanning, as if it is actually still scanning. I then try to cancel as takes too long as its clear its stuck on one file as have left it for hours and does not finish scanning or move on from whatever file its stuck on. However, it always gets quite far into the operation then just sits there saying scanning on one particular file.

I then press cancel button to stop scanning but then that just sits there says 'stop request: waiting for current operation to finish...' but it never does, it never moves on from that message. So eventually, as I cannot do anything else within FFS as everything is locked up I have to right click FFS on taskbar and close program, which returns in windows 10 'close program not responding'.

Any ideas please?

Try disabling your antivirus.

ok I've worked out its happening on one folder, when I exclude that folder FFS completes as normal.

any other ideas please?

Please give us more details about this folder (full pathname) and contained folders and files.
