glibc 2.17 required, but is not available (through normal means) for this platform.
How to work / get around?
kernel was 3.3 (I think), and through googling got it up to 3.13 (trusty kernel on precise), but still not 2.17.
Could the changelog please note when glibc changes?
In the mean time ... what is the latest version that's happy with 2.15?

OK, so necessary package is libc6. Tops out at 2.15 for my system.
Still leaves outstanding that changelog should reflect such changes, and how to get a ffs that doesn't just die a horrible death (gui just ... disappears), for my system.
Suggestions appreciated.

Generally FFS is always compiled for the newest Ubuntu/Debian system available. Versions for older systems can be found here:
