So hopefully we're all creating logs now if we so choose, but what about cleaning up the mess?
Is there any way to get a log rotation based on user-defined log retention?

What do you mean? There's a limit option for the batch job log file count.

Agreed. I didn't think of hovering with my mouse to see the balloon popup saying this was a limit for the number of logs. At first glance, I thought it was a limit on the logs size so I didn't check it.

Do you think it would be a good addition to the Schedule a Batch Job page?

No, documentation is a last resort, the ideal is for functionality to be self-evident or self-documenting, i.e. maybe a tool tip or a better label name.
