Love this program and I use it all the time for backups. Recently I switched to using FTP so I can have backups that are password protected and hopefully immune to ransomware attacks.
I'm running version 9.6 but this has happened on earlier versions as well.
The problem I have is is that I get FTP errors such as:
Cannot open directory "...
CURLE_RECV_ERROR: response reading failed [curl_easy_perform]
These always resolve themselves with a retry but it is a pain to babysit the backup waiting for one of these errors to show up. The retry on error option doesn't seem to help here. I see an ignore errors check box that is now displayed during the compare but that makes me nervous. I don't like ignoring errors I want to know the backup completed and everything is now in sync.

I read in another post that the retry on error option doesn't work in the compare phase due to normal errors of directories not existing. How about an option to enable this retry during compares maybe with a number of retries specified so it doesn't get stuck forever.

Support for "auto-retry" and "ignore errors" during comparison has been implemented for FreeFileSync 10.3.
