FreeFileSync is an awesome tool and the speed is amazing, especially compared to older synchronization tools I have been using. Yet, there is one feature from one of those tools (SynchronizeIt!) I miss in FreeFileSync: The ability, to store the drive letter or even part of a path in a variable. This allows you to easily adjust your actions if the drive letter changes (external device) or if you move to another computer (even part of the path may change).

In SynchronizeIt!, you could define variables, e.g.
Name: Stick1
Path: F:\Exchange\Upstairs

Then you could simply refer to this variables:
$(Stick1)\MyPictures

For my usage pattern, this was extremely handy. Do you think you could implement something similar?

Thanks very much for considering this and best regards

edit: this is similar to Brians 2nd feature suggestion:

2. I like the feature of being able to change the drive name from D: or E: to the disk name like "USB_DRIVE_1" in case the drive letter changes. Besides the drop downs or editing the .xml, is there a GUI way to change all the folders to the drive name all at once? I would envision an "Apply to all" silverturbo, 02 Jan 2018, 20:14
