FFS freezes on startup [MacOS]

I noticed when FFS is set to auto check for updates on startup, and if there is no internet connection, FFS would freeze and give me the spinning beach ball every time. I'd have to force-quit out of the program, and make sure I have an internet connection available before I can run FFS again. This means I won't be able to run any file transfers between my laptop and an external hard-drive if I'm at a cafe without a connection!

Would be great if this could be fixed so that if FFS can't detect an active internet on startup after 3 seconds, it'd carry on normal to the regular screen.
