Hello,
As the title already says, I suggest to make the filename of the synchronisation database ("sync.ffs_db") configurable. The reason behind this is that the synchronization DB of older versions is incompatible with newer versions.
But colleagues of mine refuse to update/don't bother to update/can't update (missing permissions, stupid IT) their FreeFileSync (they still are on V5.0!!) and always complain, when a newer version overwrites the DB of the older versions. So to avoid collisions like this a different filename could be a solution, don't you think? Or include the FFS version into the filename ("sync_v10.0.ffs_db")!?
All the best,
Chris
Suggestion: Add a Setting for the ffs_db filename

Wouldn't exactly that be a good reason for an update? FFS 5.0 is ancient, and missing literally 1200 lines of changelog items compared to 10.0.

Yes, I know. I'd be all for it. But those "ancients" I'm dealing with are not.
I know, that this suggestion is just treating the symptom and not the root cause, but the root causes will retire soon ;)
