Filter out directories from comparison (not from synchronizing)

Hello everybody,
I need to exclude directories that contain a very large number of files from sync. I tried adding them to the "Exclude" list in "Filter" section but FFS still compares them although it ignores them from the sync process. This takes too long time.
Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, it looks like the filter step only occurs after the comparison step. It would be nice to have an exclusion list for the comparison list too. Like saying "Compare drive A with drive B, except for directories with the string 'IGNORE' in the name".

The filter is in fact considered during comparison. If this doesn't seem to be the case, then it indicates an incorrectly set up filter: https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=exclude-items

Yep, just did some testing on my side. Excluded directories in the filter section aren't scanned even at the comparison stage. Must be a typo in OP's filter.

Yes, you are right. I used the absolute path rather than the relative path :(
