Will you add an option to compress backups?

Forgive me if this has been requested before (I'm just new), but do you plan to add an option to compress files in the destination folder? I need this to protect some files vulnerable to viruses like (.exe, MS Office files, etc). Once my computer got infected with a nasty virus while my backup external drive and I lost a lot of files. Ideally, you could add an option to select which file types to compress and those to leave uncompressed like media files.
