Comparing Backups

Hey everyone,

I will briefly describe the situation I'm in: I'm backing up my data on a regular basis but obviously there are hudge overlaps which lead to massive storage usage which is not necessary. I know that FreeFileSync can give me what I need if I'd never change any names of the documents but would it be possible to ignore the names of the documents and compare them on another level?

I'm really no expert so it's possible that my question makes no sense to you but I just wanted to make sure that there is no such option before I find another more complicated solution.

If I have not stated my question clear enough please feel free to ask. I will be happy to clarify.

FreeFileSync has a capability of detecting if files have been moved or renamed.
