Since upgrading to Windows 10 V1803, FreeFileSync has problems updating Microsoft Edge Favorites. I have a workaround but have no idea why it works.
I backup Edge favorites on my Desktop computer then sync them on my laptops.
This is the source:
%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\MicrosoftEdge\User\Default\DataStore
When I try to sync on a newly-started-up laptop with Edge not yet running, I get the errors as attached.
The workaround is to start Edge then close Edge and rerun the sync, it then works with no errors.

This might be a good reason for FreeFileSync to have a "before sync" command:
taskkill /f /im MicrosoftEdge.exe
