Examining and the "sync.ffs_lock" file...

From time to time the program enters the state "Examining" and this state lasts for hours!

During this process, at the top of the screen is the message:
Waiting while the directory is locked: "E: \ BackupSQL \ sync.ffs_lock" | Lock Owner: administrator

Why does the program do this?
