I´m using FFS since several month´s and am very satisfied.
But after updating from version 9.4 to version 10.4 a problem occurs.
All directories and files with names containing special chars (language specific) are recognized as renamed and indicated to be deleted/recopied. After that all dirs/files would have a wrong name
Seems to be a problem with the translation of different charsets/codepages (Linux-NAS to Windows PC).
On my notebook (version 9.4. running) there´s no problem.
So I synced NAS and notebook and then notebook - PC (both running Win 10).
Is there a possible solution ?

What kind of device is the left hand side? Are these broken chars also shown in Windows Explorer?

The left hand side is a buffalo NAS - the right hand side my WIN 10 PC
And yes. I checked it and it´s the same in Windows Explorer and in Firefox (MSIE not checked)

Seems to be solved.
A well hidden language setting was the solution - thanks for hint (Explorer)
