I used to have an older version of filesync.
To keep my imporatnt data I used c:\Data as source and F:\Mybackup as destination
I was presented with all the files in c:\data including a "folder separator" on which i could click to UN-Select that folder.
This way I could sync (backup) only the sub-folder I wanted from c:\data.

In the new version 7.6 and under new computer (windows 10) I can't see that option.
So I either select the entire c:\data OR select sub-folders 1 at a time AND must have those selected folders in d:\mybackup.

Essentially I want to "backup" (using mirror) selected folders from c:\data to d:\mybackup, creating folders in d:\mybackup when needed.

How can I do this?

I'm not sure what "folder separator" you're refering to. Maybe you can post a screenshot?

This is from ver 2.18
ignore what's on the right side (targetn), it is just to show what I mean by "folder separator"
left side (source) is d:\data\iriver.
I clicked the line for sub-folder d:\data\iriver\firmware
and all the files in it are not selected when compare to right side

so when comaprison AND syncing is done, those file will not be copied to targert (right side)

I think I got it.
The folder selection is in the middle with check-marks
once I un-check the box right of a folder name, it disappears from the list (insted of being un-checked).
I wish it would stay on the list (with all it's sub-folders and files) and with un-checked box, so I cud see what is it that I un-checked (maybe by mistae) and can check it again.
Maybe there's an option to it i'm not aware of

Yes, there is: Temporarily excluded items can be shown with a button at the bottom of the window next to the view type. BTW FileSync != FreeFileSync.

Thanks. found that button!
pardon my asking: what's the difference with FileSync?
