INSTALL ERROR

Hello:

I am getting an install error when I try to install the donated version of FreeFileSync.

Please see attached file.

What am I doing wrong ?. Do I need to uninstall the non-donated version first, or is it something else ?

Please help.

I tried install again after uninstalling the non-donated version and then the install worked. I do not know why.

I would still like to know the reason for the error.

Installing a program that is already installed is going to cause issues most times. The directory already existed and most likely had access rights to prevent other things from messing with it. Uninstalling the current version removes that stuff. The donation version isn't just a patch or upgrade to the free version, it is a completely new install.

Updating an existing FFS installation shouldn't be a problem. My guess is that some other process was interfering. Maybe some AV software. In order to find out what was happening one would have run a tool like Process Monitor and then reproduce the situation.
