Update error, loses Donation version

I have a donation version for my mac and the windows VM running in Fusion. I hadn't used the mac version in a few months. When I did, I got an error message saying it could not find the current version number on your website. I couldn't get it to resolve, so I downloaded the new version (10.16, I was running 10.10). Now it does not identify as the Donation Version, and I did not get a .key file.

How do I get back on track? I think I still have a couple months left on my donation version.....
