When I go the download page to download a new version of FFS Donation Edition for Windows I am offered two different downloads:
(1) Download FreeFileSync 10.17 [Donation Edition] Windows Setup
(2) Download FreeFileSync 10.17 [Donation Edition] Windows Portable (ZIP)
I don't understand this. If I run the Windows Setup as part of the install routine I get offered to install as a portable. So why is there a separate file offered for download as a portable? Is there any difference between the portable 'installations' that get produced by these two separate download files?

This is mostly because the second version doesn't require admin rights, but also because portable-mode users expect to be able to extract an archive rather than have to click through an installer.

Thanks for the response, Zenju. Still not clear on the question if the 'portable' produced by both installers is the exact same? Could you clarify please?

Yes, they're the same.
