10.20 Donation Edition not functional when offline

Hi,

I recently received the 10.20 Donation Edition. Trying to start it today, I recieved the following message:

If I'm offline, it seems that I can't follow any of those steps to get the app open. For now I've downgraded to 10.18, which I still had on my harddrive.

Is there any way to use the donation edition when offline? I guess saving the key is my best option? If so, then can the donation edition save that key locally on initial install?
