Ubuntu 20.04, Fritzbox 6490 cable OS 7.20, protocoll SMB, German User, FreeFileSync Version 11.2
I can copy files between two NAS easily with Thunar or Nemo!
When I use FreeFileSync the Compare does work very well - the Sync does not - message example:
>>Die Datei "/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=fritz.box,share=fritz.nas/WD-Elements25A2-01/Cloud/Film+Ton/Coelho.Paulo/Paulo Coelho - Der fünfte Berg - Hörbuch.mp4" kann nicht gelesen werden. EINVAL: Das Argument ist ungültig [read]<<

When I use my virtual Win10 machine running on Ubuntu via Oracle Virtualbox and the Win Version 11.2 of FreeFileSync - it works very well and ca. 30 times faster: 120 seconds with WIN - with Linux 3300 seconds!!!

I was very happy for several years with Ubuntu 18.04 and FreeFileSync - until the update of the Fritzbox 6490 cable to OS 7.20 and upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04... there is no way back - pls help me. Thanks in advance.

11.2 for MacOS doesn't work either, I've even gone to 10.0 but the sync.ffs_lock is broken for 10.0. I started a post but only got a short reply and then went blank. They NEED to fix this, this is the only application I know that's free and useful

Ok I found a fix for my system, but I don't know how this will vary for others. I have a seperate user called admin, I had FFS in the "all computers" applications folder, I logged into admin, opened up FFS and it worked fine, when I closed it, it gave an error about "couldn't find admin/Application Support/FreeFileSync", I looked in their and couldn't see a FreeFileSync folder, I made a new one and named is "FreeFileSync". I opened up FFS in admin again and disabled "check automatically once a week", I then went to "admin/Application Support/FreeFileSync" and copied the 3 files inside to my main user Application Support. I logged back into my main user, opened up FFS and it's working so far

I got the same issue with version 11.12 running on Linux Mint 20.2.
Some files (not sure if if affects all files) could not be synchronized between my NAS and fileserver, running FFS on the fileserver. I got the same error as Wolfgang.

My workaround is to run FFS on a Windows 10 machine instead. Then there is no problem to copy between the NAS and fileserver. Makes no sense to me...

Still no solution in sight?

Same issue here for Linux Mint 20.2 (Ubuntu 20.04 based). It worked well on Linux Mint 19 (Ubuntu 18.04 based). Downgrading FFS to 10.25 didn't solve the issue, so it seems to be an issue with Ubuntu 20.04. I'd appreciate any help. This issue makes FFS completely unusable for me unfortunately.
