I set up a sync of an ftp server. Whenever I try to compare or sync I get the following error:
ftp://192.xxx.xx.xxx/xxxx
Cannot read directory "xxxxx"
Failed to parse FTP response. Expected character not found.
If I use Filezilla to connect to the FTP server and perform a file transfer it works just fine. Anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

What is the full error message?

It is just as above, but the xxx's are my ip address. And then "Failed to parse FTP response. (Directory SYS$SYSDEVICE:[USER:NAME]) Expected character not found."

Is this from an old FreeFileSync version? If not: Can you copy and paste the message without editting (except for your IP).

I can't get an a cut and paste copy, because the computer is on an offline system. But the message is exactly as I said.
ftp://192.xxx.xx.xxx/xxxx
Failed to parse FTP response. (Directory SYS$SYSDEVICE:[USER:NAME]) Expected character not found.
ftp://192.xxx.xx.xxx/xxxx
Failed to parse FTP response. (Directory SYS$SYSDEVICE:[USER:NAME]) Expected character not found.

Just type out the IP address/path... It is a private address and isn't exposed to the internet or anything

I think you're using an old FreeFileSync version. But it doesn't matter in this case: It looks like "Directory SYS$SYSDEVICE:[USER:NAME]" is coming from some VMS FTP server which FreeFileSync (currently?) does not support.

I am using version 11.2. This is an odd system, so it is probably not supported with Free File Sync.
