Hello forum,

I use FFS 11.3 to sync a local hardrive with a network share. My problem is, that after the sync finished some of the files that were copied to the network drive have the modification date/time of the sync and not of the source files. This does not happens for all files. The number incorrect files is varying. The file creation date is tranferred correctly.

My network share is connected as a "local" drive using Mountain Duck via webdav (HTTPS) incl. encryption by Cryptomator. I seached the forum and found that this may be caused by the network share provider. But in my case I am able copy the same files from the same source to the same target directory (as FFS sync does) using the Windows Explorer and the modification dates/times of the source files are maintained correctly. I tried this multiple times.

Is there a setting (or problem?) in FFS that can cause this? For me its a big problem because after the sync the network files are "newer" than the local ones and the next sync will try to copy all these files back. The problem only occurrs when the files a copied local -> network. For direction network -> local everything is ok.

Best regards

Hi again,
following the FAQ I used the process monitor to see what happens with the files. I made a sync and some files were transferred with correct modification time and some files were transferred with a modification time of the sync.

Here is a screenshot of the process monitor filtered to a file that was transferred correctly. In the yellow boxes you can see the correct modification time 13.12.2019 multiple times during FFS and Explorer action.

Then here is a screenshot of the process monitor filtered to a file that was transferred not correctly. In the yellow box you can see the correct modification time 13.12.2019 until the last three steps of FFS. Then after some Explorer action the modification time is 10.11.2020 in the red boxes. This is the date of the sync.

Could someone help me to find out what makes the difference? For me the actions seem very simular for both files.

Best regards

(I'll just note that the LastWriteTime on the "failed" version is also current time.)
