Hello,
I'm using windows 10 and FreeFileSync for professionnal use. On my laptop, i have local files i want to save on a local server and i also use Microsoft OneDrive to share files with other people.
The Microsoft OneDrive folder is set in my "Documents" folder where i also have my other local files and folders.
In my FreeFileSync "script" i try to exclude the Microsoft OneDrive folder as it is already backup to Microsoft cloud servers. But it does not work. I'm unable to exclude this folder !?
Is there something i'm doing wrong ?
Thanks in advance for any help !
Regards
Michel (From France).

What do you mean it doesn't work? Once FFS syncs files to destination, they won't get deleted if you exclude them in following syncs. you would have to delete them from the destination and then they won't sync to it again. How are you excluding it? You should be able to exclude it by excluding:
"C:\Users\xxxxxx\Documents\OneDrive\"
"C:\Users\xxxxxx\Documents\OneDrive\"

Hello,
Thanks for your anwer.
"It doesn't work" means that the OneDrive Folder is not excluded. I did never copy it on the server so it exists only on the "lef side" (on my laptop). I exclude it using a relative path : "\OneDrive -SNT" and not an absolute path "D:\Documents\OneDrive - SNT".
Michel.

Filter definitions are relative to the left and right base location.
If your left or right base location is "D:\Documents", you should Exclude "\OneDrive -SNT\". However, if your left or right base location is "D:\" you should Exclude "\Documents\OneDrive -SNT\".
The simplest way to correctly add items to your Exclude Filter is to run a Compare, select the item in the Compare result window, right-click the item and select the appropriate action in the context menu.
