error launching freefilesync on xp pro x64

downloaded and installed freefilesync 5.2 today.. double clicking desktop icon
puts up an error dialog 'Error launching:
"C:\bin\freefilesync\Bin\FreeFileSync_x64.exe"' this is on windows cp
professional x64 edition version 2003 service pack 2.

suggestions please?

that should be windows xp (of course). sorry.

Is the command line you posted correct? Are you on XP 64 bit? Are you able to
manually start the .exe in subdirectory bin?

yes, command line posted is the path to the binary, and was correctly included
in the desktop icon by the installed.

yes, windows xp professional x64 edition version 2003 service pack 2.

no, starting by double clicking on the .exe file in explorer or entering the
command line in a dos box both result in the same error message.

Then the problem is clear: The FFS 64 bit version has been compiled with
Visual Studio 11, which has dropped support for Windows XP.

I'll so to compile the next version with Visual Studio 10 (2010) again.
Hopefully MS will reconsider their decision to drop XP support for the VS 11
final release.

I have the same problem with Windows XP x64.
