Among other devices, I have a QNAP NAS, a Synology NAS and a Windows 10 desktop on my home network. My QNAP is the main storage location. I renamed about 30 video files on the QNAP and then ran FFS to mirror to the desktop. It took about 5-10 seconds to run.

But, when I ran FFS to mirror the QNAP to the Synology, the files were all created again and took several minutes to run.

I have the FFS settings set identically as far as I can see. Could I have missed something ? Or could it be the way one of the NAS's is setup ?

I seem to recall similar behaviour with Moved files as well but will have to run a test to be sure. I do have the "Detect Moved Files" box checked.

I would wager a guess on how the NAS is setup. I think it came up because Linux/ext4 used file IDs that change instead of staying, thus it is a 'different' file.
