Laptop not auto syncing after going into suspended state

I'm running a laptop with Linux Mint Cinnamon and I have it setup so that when my laptop starts it starts syncing automatically every minute. It works great until my laptop goes into a suspended state due to inactivity or the laptop being closed. Once I start the laptop up again, it no longer auto syncs, I need to manually run realtimesync to get it started again. Is there a fix for this?

RTS can't run periodic syncs, so I would guess you mean you set a minute idle time after changes are detected. What locations are being sync and monitored? Local, network, etc?

Sorry that was a poor choice of wording, but yes, I have a 1 minute idle time set.
I am syncing between my computer and an external hard drive attached to my router.

You said you have to manually start RTS again once you wake the laptop back up? As in, RTS is crashing at some point between the laptop going to sleep and waking up? If so, are there system logs you can look at?
