When a USB stick is almost full things are really slow.
And it also seems like space is reserved for something.
I'd really like an option that would do ALL deletes before copying new files.
To free up most space before starting copying new files (or updated files).

Most storage devices get slower as they fill up, very much so with flash storage so that makes sense. You can selectively sync so that all the deletions are performed and then run the copies after space is freed up. I believe it waits to do the deletions to help avoid data loss. USB sticks are pretty cheap, probably best to get a bigger one or move to a different solution for anything >256GB
