Retain sharing links of updated file in Google Drive

Hi!

I find that updating the file in my Google Drive (I made changes to the file locally) will cause the sharing link of the file to change. When I check in Google drive, the older version is moved to the trash, replaced by the updated file with a new sharing link (new file ID).

Is there any option to keep the the sharing link?

If not available yet, consider adding this as new feature. If we drop the new file version to the Google Drive via web browser, there is an option to overwrite the file but will keep the sharing link. There could be an API doing the same job too.

Considering nowadays, different documents on the cloud are heavily hyperlinked, I think it is important to keep using the same file link.
