Hello. I have about 150gb images/videos on hdd. Want to backup on USB disc.
Files are sorted like this
Year d:\photos\2021\Holiday\1111.jpg
Year d:\photos\2012\Birthday\2222.jpg
Video: moved to d:\Videos\year\
On external HDD I have some files sorted only by year (e:\photos:\20XX\xxx.jpg)
Videos (over 100GB) are unsorted and all files after 2017 are unsorted.
Is it possible to auto sort files based on first directory tree without copying files that exists on external hdd?
Can FreeFileSync do this? Or is it any other program for this?
Update backup: sort instead of replace

FFS isn't a sort utility. You would need something that can read metadata and move files accordingly

Ok.But little proposition for future versions:
When element is only on right side you can: do nothing, move to left or delete.
What about option: Find where is file on left & move?
This option should search where file is located on left side (+check date/time/size etc.)
then move file to directory where is located on left side instead of delete & copy.

That would be the "mirror" method with "detect moved/renamed files" checked

Ok. Thanks. I missed it.
EDIT: First time I need to do full copy. This options work only for future updates.
