Hi,
I am trying to FFS to sync my music directory from my Windows 10 to my Moto G Power SD Card. I originally copied my files (16500+) from windows to the phone which took a couple of hours via explorer. I thought that maybe I could use FFS to update changes from my PC to phone. But when I run the compare it wants to re-copy every file again. Even though only less than a hundred files have changed. Am I wasting my time trying to get this to work? Seems that MTP is an issue from what I can gather on forum.

I sync to my phone without issues. It depends on so many variables that it is probably quicker and easier to just let FFS re-sync them all and see if it continues to try to do that every time. Timestamps may not be supported on the device/SD card or whatever, and of course you also try comparing by file content or file size. Content is more than likely a horrible idea since it will take a much longer time

Thanks for the reply, I was able to get it to work using file size.

@xCSxXenon,
since you don't experience any issue syncing your phone could you please tell me exactly what setting are you using? (comparison variant, syncronisation variant, direction if not two way, etc.)
Many thanks

I used "File Size" on the compare (which takes about 5 mins to run) and I "Mirrored" my PC drive to the MTP SD mount. So "D:\Music" mirrored to "mtp:\moto g power\SanDisk SD card\Music1". D: is a 2TB Raid1 mirrored pair on my Windows 10 PC. I have a SanDisk 512GB Ultra MicroSDXC in my Moto G Power (2020) running Android 11. Only new/changed files on D: are mirrored. I use my D:\music files as the master and only apply updates there. The phone uses PowerAmp to stream Blue Tooth in my car or to my headset/speakers. I don't use internet music streaming or storage - only listen to my library of 16519 tracks or SiriusXM. Maybe that is to much detail but I hope that answers your query.

Thank you @soit78, you have been very exhaustive.
Unfortunately your configuration is not working for me.
It keeps on freezing on files to delete or changed files to replace. (no matter if internal memory or external SD card)
The only configuration working for me is the opposite way: mirroring phone to pc.

I use a couple pairs/combinations of mirrors with multiple filters to deal with people added videos to a shared photo folder, but they are all using mirror
