deleting old files using versioning

I have set up versioning with last"x" days set to 60

versioning.jpg

and it all works fine, moving old and changed copies of files to the relevant folder on my NAS drive
I was hoping that, after 60 days they would be deleted from the NAS but that doesnt happen

Have I assumed incorrectly how this works ?
