Newbie Question - From a new Donation Edition Guy!

SO: After reading everything I could find and making this work, I still have a question.
What is the AUTO-UPDATE function, how do I use it, etc.

I apologize if it's already in the Forum...I could not find it and also could not find a 'Forum Search' thingy.

Well, I finally found the search function in this forum. Which means I found lots of answers regarding AUTO-UPDAT!
