sync.ffs_lock

Hi.

Can I use another local folder for sync.ffs_lock?

I sync my local OnDrive folder. The sync.ffs_lock is always uploaded to OnDrive.

If you sync your local OneDrive folder with FFS, the sync.ffs_lock file is (temporarily) placed in your OneDrive folder by FFS; it is not "uploaded".
On the purpose of sync.ffs_lock files and how to possibly avoid them, see the LockDirectoriesDuringSync section of the FFS Expert Settings Manual page.

I also do this and it is not a problem. The file gets deleted as soon as the sync finishes

Yes, OnDrive uploads an delete the file always.
In my case I can disable this with LockDirectoriesDuringSync = FALSE
