In an effort to have repeatable and documentable system configurations, I really frown upon custom installations that may or may not clash with system updates and which are easy to screw up when configuring multiple, similar systems.
So having a deb repository, from which to install the software would be a big help.

I am a fellow random dude who hangs out on this forum. You can check out https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:bgstack15/freefilesync but I only target Debian Sid/Devuan Ceres. I hope that's what you want! Zenju likes to keep this software incredibly close to upstream compiler and dependency library versions, so some effort is required to even compile on Sid, so I focus on maintaining just this one debian-release-based package of freefilesync.
