Hi.
I'm looking for a way to automatically sync/backup certain folders on my phone with an external hard drive that is hooked up to my laptop. Ideally, I'd like this to occur over my home wifi assuming they are both connected to the same wifi network.
Is this possible to do with FreeFileSync?
I've read some posts about something called MTP which seems like it might be what I'm looking for, but I'm not very tech savvy. I don't know what MTP is and I'm looking for a step-by-step tutorial to take me through the process of setting this up.

Thanks!

You would have to map the phone as a network location somehow, never heard of a reliable way to do that. Most people plug in their phone, MTP is just the protocol that your phone uses to transfer data over the USB connection.

Got it. Okay, I managed to do this via USB (MTP). Thanks!
