macOS: batch file accessing Documents, Desktop on Big Sur

Has anyone used FreeFileSync in a managed/MDM environment? I have a .batch file that triggers based on a script, but it chokes on accessing the ~/Documents and ~/Desktop folders. The FreeFileSync's error log has lines like:
Cannot open directory "/Users/username/Desktop".
 EPERM: Operation not permitted [opendir]
I have an MDM PPPC profile that gives access to org.freefilesync.FreeFileSync with the Documents and Desktop grants, but these errors persist.

Testing with FreeFileSync 11.13 and Big Sur 11.6. (I also have reports of similar issues on Catalina 10.15.x)
