Completed file sync and multiple files on both ends were deleted and did not goto the recycling bin
Version 11.11...been using FreeFileSync for about a year now without issue. If it was user error for file deletion, why did they not go to the recycling bin. I have not loaded up the app since the sync a few days ago.
On MacOS.

was able to recover the files...they synced one way but deleted from the source location which is quite odd. does FFS create a log file of all activites?

When in the FFS GUI, after running a Compare (F5), you can always check if the FFS proposed actions meet your needs or expectations. If they don't, then simply do not press Synchronize (F9), and nothing bad or unintended will happen.
As far the FFS log-file is concerned:
You should be able to find the FFS log file in the location FFS shows at the bottom of the Synchronization Settings window (F8).
For Windows, by default it points to
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\FreeFileSync\Logs
For Mac I do not know.

If you are using 'mirror' or 'update', FFS won't delete anything from the source. Something else must have caused that. I also have not seen FFS not respect recycle bin settings, further leading to something else being the cause.
