I was doing a very long (multi-hour) sync with an FTP site. So, I left it running on a pc on another desk. When I checked on it 2 hours later, I had found that it was displaying an error dialog with "Ignore, retry, cancel" buttons. What was bad was that apparently this error happened only 10 mins into the sync, so I lost almost two hours of time that could have been spent copying if I could have heard the error when it happened 10 mins into the sync, instead of 2 hours later when I manually checked on the status :(
So, please at option to play a sound when an error occurs so I can hear and correct it right away.
Please add option to play sound when a sync error happens

I agree that feature would be nice, but do want to add that there are options to skip errors and/or retry.

Thanks for the info.
But if I let it "ignore" the errors, then I still would not know that there were error(s) until 2 hours later when I checked on it. (and if it ignores errors, does it report what files were not synced?)
And if I let it "retry", then it could get into a loop (again for 2 hours) before I would realize there was an error condition.

You can always check the FFS log-file after the sync has finished.
It should list all the errors that have occurred.

I appreciate all the suggested work-arounds :)
But a new error sound feature would address my concern the best.

Yes, you can always check the results later. You can also set how many times to retry, it doesn't just retry forever and ever, that would be pointless. At least this would allow it to progress even if there is an error, although it highly depends on what the error is.

An unconditional sound on error is probably more annoying than useful because most of the time the user is available to act upon it. Therefore it may be better to play a notification sound only after the app has been waiting for a long time for the user response.
For 11.15 I've added an "alert pending" sound, that only plays (repeatedly) when the popup dialog has been left unanswered for 1 minute. What do you think, is this a decent default?
