Hi, friends. I hope I'm not beating an old topic to death but since my knowledge of this software is extremely limited, I didn't quite know how to articulate the problem while trying to search for previous threads on this topic. Please forgive my newbie questioning. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I do a lot of work with audio and video files, so I've got two external drives loaded with them. The source drive E: (4TB) is sort of my daily drive. Everything I download or save initially goes to that drive. The target drive G: (8TB) I use as my master backup. Typically, whatever I download or store on the source gets copied to the target for permanent archiving.
However, there are some folders/files that are unique to the target drive. It's twice the size so I have other folders that reside there and there only. Sometimes I'll edit or delete some of the contents of different folders on the source drive and I want that to be reflected when syncing over to the target. However, since I have unique folders on the target, I want FFS to ignore them so they don't end up getting deleted during the sync. So I guess this isn't a straight 'mirror' scenario.
Maybe it's because it's 4:46 in the damn morning or maybe it's because I am dumb, but my brain is struggling to nail down the appropriate sync settings to make this happen. Can anyone please break this down so I don't end up doing mass deletions on accident? lol Thanks.

Start by watching the Tutorials.
And make sure to run a Compare and review the proposed actions before committing to running an actual Sync.

You are best off creating a dedicated folder on the target drive that you mirror the source drive to. Otherwise, you will have to tirelessly audit your filters which will only get more complicated over time.
