Thank you for FreeFileSync! It is an example of great software.
When FFS is run from read-only media Windows gives an error: Error writing
file: "LastRun.ffs_gui". Windows Error Code 5: Access is denied.
How do I suppress the message?

It cannot be suppressed.
Nevertheless I recognize that "LastRun.ffs_gui" is a special case. It's not a
configuration the user explicitly advised to be safed but is automatically
created by the program. Therefore I have deactivated error reporting for this
file for v3.18 (and cross fingers this doesn't conceil any error situations
that should have been reported)
What a turnaround. I remember a discussion from a year back where users
complained about four(!) error messages being shown in this case viewtopic.php?t=2068
Two were superfluous, although a lot of work to get rid of. The last two
debatable. But error reporting for "globalsettings.xml" has been disabled for
quite some time, and it seems nobody did miss it (or maybe even notice). So
deactivating reporting for this single file "lastrun.ffs_gui" shouldn't be too
risky.
