ffs_tmp file

Syncing is stalling when trying to delete an ffs_tmp file. I can't manually delete the file in WIndows Explorer either. I've tried rebooting all drives. Any suggestions?

What error do you get when trying to delete it manually?
Are you running FFS as admin?

"Could not find this item.... no longer located in...."
No, I hadn't been using FFSync as admin but will try that.

Use gsmartcontrol to check the health of that drive.
If it's healthy, run chkdsk on the volume and try again. If it's failing, run a chkdsk and copy the data to a replacement drive.

Thanks for your reply. It is only that one file (as far as I know) but it is in a folder that I regularly need to sync. It's on a network storage drive (USB drive connected to USB port on my router. gsmartcontrol won't find the drive. I'll try connecting it directly to PC and see if that makes any difference. I have been able to rename the folder that it is in but can't copy or delete the file - because Windows says it doesn't exist.

Gotcha! It may be worth restarting the router
